Family Support
Prenatal Support
Black Pearl prenatal doula support helps you plan, prepare, and feel confident through pregnancy: birth planning, education, preparing questions for your care team, and emotional support rooted in your values and culture. Prenatal doula support is educational and emotional, not medical care.

Continuity

Education, not medical advice
Prenatal doulas share general wellness education and lifestyle support. They do not diagnose conditions, prescribe, or replace your licensed provider. Health questions, including questions about herbs or traditional remedies, are always directed to your physician, midwife, or other licensed healthcare professional.
When should I start prenatal doula support?
Many families begin prenatal support in the second or third trimester. Earlier is fine too, especially if you want extra time for birth planning and education.
Does a prenatal doula provide medical care?
No. A prenatal doula provides education, planning, emotional support, and advocacy. Your physician or midwife continues to manage your medical care, and the doula encourages you to discuss health questions with them.
Can a doula help me talk to my provider?
Yes. Doulas help clients prepare questions, understand their options, and communicate their preferences to their care team, always supporting informed decisions made with licensed providers.
Do you discuss nutrition and lifestyle?
Prenatal doulas may share general wellness education and lifestyle support. This is educational, not medical advice, and health questions are always directed to your licensed provider.
